Save the Storks, a national nonprofit organization dedicated to creating a story of hope and empowerment for every woman facing an unplanned pregnancy, is encouraging Americans to reflect on the unique journeys that lead women to become mothers, whether through birth, adoption, fostering, stepparenting or mentorship, and how they “Let Life Happen” — Save the Storks theme for 2026.
Ferraro shared her own story of longing for motherhood and ultimately embracing a broader understanding of what it means to nurture and care for others.
“Like most little girls, I imagined I’d be a mom when I grew up… I just knew that being a mom was what I was called to do,” she said.
Her journey includes being adopted and becoming a stepmother, adoptive mother through Olive Crest, a foster family ministry based in Santa Ana, California, and a mentor to many young women. Ferraro said those experiences have shaped her understanding of motherhood as both a personal and spiritual calling.
